SCA, KIIT-DU Organizes Capacity Building Workshop on “Cyber Safety Awareness and AI Futures”
The “Cyber Safety Awareness and AI Futures: A One-Day Capacity Building Workshop for Principals, Heads of Schools, and PGTs of CBSE, ICSE, and IB Schools” was successfully held on 7 February 2026 in online mode. The programme was organized by the School of Computer Applications (SCA), KIIT-DU, and coordinated by Dr. Satya Ranjan Dash, Dean, SCA. The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from 820 Principals, Heads of Schools, and Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) representing CBSE, ICSE, and IB affiliated schools across 28 States and Union Territories of India.
Dr. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT-DU, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and addressed the gathering, highlighting the growing importance of cyber safety and the responsible use of artificial intelligence in the education ecosystem. Mr. Santosh Mishra, Cyber Consultant, TCS; Mr. Manas Ranjan Biswal; and Dr. Nitin Sharma, School of Mechanical Engineering, KIIT-DU, also addressed the participants and delivered insightful sessions in their respective domains.
The Director General, Dr. Veena Goswami, emphasized the importance of effectively transferring the knowledge gained from the workshop to students through teachers, thereby strengthening cyber awareness at the grassroots level. In his address, Dr. Satya Ranjan Dash highlighted how KIIT-DU continuously reaches diverse communities through its outreach initiatives. He also announced the launch of a Mega Quiz Competition for school students across India, to be organized in the near future.
During the break, the participants were also provided with a virtual tour of KIIT, KISS, and KIMS, during which they explored the sports and other key facilities of the university. The workshop received overwhelmingly positive feedback from the participating principals and teachers, who expressed their satisfaction with the sessions and assured continued collaboration and future engagement with KIIT-DU.
