KISS-DU Organizes Workshop on ‘Entrepreneurship Sensitization & Development Programme’

Centre for Indigenous Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and School of Tribal Resource Management, KISS-DU jointly organized a workshop on ‘Entrepreneurship Sensitization and Development Programme’ in association with MSME-DI, Cuttack, Ministry of MSME, Government of India on 12th April 2022. The objective of the workshop was to sensitize the students on the importance of entrepreneurial skills.  

Speaking at the workshop, Dr. Shibananda Nayak, Assistant Director (EI), MSME-DI, Cuttack said that MSME aims to promote entrepreneurship, skill the educated unemployed and help them build their own business. He also presented brief activities of the MSME-DI and some of the major schemes of the Ministry of MSME, like PMEGP, CGTMSE, MUDRA, SPURTI, and EDP. Shri. Subas Kumar Sahu, Assistant Director, MSME-DI spoke about the Service Oriented Section, the importance of generating ideas, and ways to identify the requirements of large-scale industry and the need for market identification, and value addition to the product. The students learnt about key topics like registering themselves under UDYAM, as well as various initiatives and schemes of MSME-DIs.

Earlier, in his welcome address, Dr. Prashanta Kumar Routray, Registrar, KISS-DU motivated the students to become job givers rather than job seekers. He also spoke about how KISS is emphasizing vocational skills to encourage students to become entrepreneurs.   

The session witnessed a stimulating question and answer session facilitated by Dr. Snigdharani Panda, Dean, School of Tribal Resource Management, KISS-DU. Ms. Namaswinee Das, Faculty Member, School of Tribal Resource Management, KISS-DU moderated the workshop, while Professor Jagannath Lenka, Professor Emeritus, KISS-DU, proposed the vote of thanks.
