KIIT – IQAC Organized Faculty Development Workshop on “Innovative Problem Solving”
KIIT – Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) organized an interactive Faculty Development Workshop on the theme “Innovative Problem Solving,” on 16th December 2023 for the faculty members of the University. Around 40 faculty members from different schools participated in the workshop. Dr. Shankar Venugopal, Vice President, Mahindra & Mahindra and Mr. Sayantan Mukerjee, Founder – The Innovators Garage were the resource persons for the workshop.
Inaugurating the workshop, Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT-DU discussed the significance of problem solving skills underscoring its pivotal role in fostering holistic learning. His emphasis aligned with KIIT-DU’s ethos, rooted in the visionary ideals of Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Hon’ble Founder, KIIT & KISS. Driven by a vision of inclusivity and excellence, the institution champions innovation as a cornerstone of education, empowering students to tackle real-world challenges. Earlier, Prof. Kumar Mohanty, Director- FDP, extended a warm welcome to the distinguished speakers, setting the tone for an enriching event. He ushered in an atmosphere of knowledge exchange and collaboration, marking the beginning of an insightful session benefiting all attendees. The resource persons for the workshop emphasized to cultivate collaborative problem-solving approaches.
Discussions and presentations during the event provided diverse perspectives, empowering participants to explore innovative problem-solving paradigms. Attendees engaged in interactive sessions, delving into case studies, and fostering an environment conducive to innovative thinking. The workshop empowered academicians to navigate complex challenges creatively. Participants engage in interactive sessions fostering a mindset shift towards unconventional solutions. Through collaborative activities and case studies, attendees explored diverse problem-solving methodologies, from design thinking to lateral thinking strategies. The workshop adopted a participative and consultative approach, capitalizing on presentations to channel diverse perspectives and insights.
During the valedictory ceremony, Prof. Saranjit Singh, Vice Chancellor, KIIT-DU thanked the resources persons for their sessions and motivated faculty members to actively participate in the different faculty workshops to keep themselves upgraded with the new technologies. Dr. Junali Jasmine Jena, Assistant Professor hosted the entire event. Dr. Siddharth Swarup Rautaray, Dean, IQAC, proposed the word of thanks with heartfelt gratitude, acknowledging the speakers’ invaluable insights.
