In an aim to reduce the number of road fatalities caused by accidents, KIIT-DU organized a First Aid Training programme for Youth Red Cross (YRC) KIIT volunteers on April 23, 2024. Approximately 70 YRC volunteers participated in the training, where they were instructed on various skills by Mr. Laxman Swain, Junior Red Cross Officer and Lecturer in First Aid. The training included demonstrations on how to manage unconscious victims, bleeding, fractures, heart attacks, strokes, heat strokes, snake bites, and other emergency situations.

During the workshop, the volunteers took an oath to provide emergency services whenever and wherever needed. The training instilled confidence in the volunteers to effectively handle such situations. Dr. Chitralekha Jena, YRC Counsellor at KIIT-DU, coordinated the programme, while YRC volunteers Somil Shaurya, Anuska Chakraborty, Aashish Kumar, and Krishnam Sinha played key roles in organizing and ensuring the success of the workshop.
