KIIT-DU Conducted a Two Day Workshop on SWAYAM NPTEL Courses
A two day Workshop on SWAYAMNPTEL Courses (Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds, National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning Courses), a programme of MHRD and initiated by IIT and IISC was organized by KIIT-Deemed to be University successfully in all the Schools of Engineering during 16th and 17th January, 2020.
Shri Shibsankar Das, Network Engineer, Centre for Educational Technology, IIT Kharagpur was invited to deliver a talk on NPTEL Courses during workshop.
NPTEL is an excellent tool for the students as well as faculty members which gives an academic platform to explore different courses in emerging areas of Engineering and Technology. As many as 235 courses in web/video format are available in the portal at present.
The Contents for the courses are based on the model curriculum of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the syllabi of major affiliating Universities in India. Course contents are very much useful for teacher training and through them the quality of students is improved. Besides, the course materials (both web and video) are freely accessible to everyone irrespective of their geographic location. These courses are also essential for professionals to update their academic background.
Prof. S.C. Swain, SPOC, NPTEL, KIIT Local Chapter and all Directors of Schools of Engineering addressed the gathering during the workshop also. Most of the students and faculty members participated in the workshop and they were motivated to excel NPTEL courses as per their interest.
