Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences (KINS), KIIT-DU organized a one-day seminar on “Research Tools and Methods of Data Collection” on 24th March 2022. The session started with a keynote address by Prof. (Dr.) Niyati Das, Principal, KINS.

In her talk on “Concept of Data Collection”, Mrs. Jayasmini Mohanty, Asst. Professor, KINS highlighted the sources, methods and tools of data collection, and several influencing factors of data collection with criteria of evaluation. Mrs. Trupti Rekha Swain, Asst. Professor discussed various aspects of the “Interview and Observation Method”, its uses, advantages and disadvantages with suitable examples. The last talk on “Questioning Methods, Bio-physiologic and Other Methods” was delivered by Mrs. Nibedita Mohanty, Asst Professor, KINS with an active interactive session with the audience.

All students and faculty members of KINS attended this seminar. It was coordinated by the seminar organization committee consisting of Dr. Anasuya Pattanayak, Professor; Dr. Sivasankari V., Associate Professor; Mrs. Devasmita Sahoo, Tutor; and Mr. Bajaranga Kamudi, Tutor. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Sivasankari V., Associate Professor.
