National Seminar on “Sustainable Development with Women Empowerment” Concludes
The National Seminar on “Sustainable Development with Women Empowerment” concluded on 3rd March 2022. The seminar was organized by Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), BBSR Chapter in association with KIIT & KISS-DU and College of Basic Science & Humanities, OUAT.
The first technical session of the day, chaired by Prof. J. P. Maity, Professor, KIIT-DU, had oral presentations by young researchers. Prof. C. K. Panigrahi, Director, Quality Assurance Cell, KIIT-DU chaired the next technical session and the plenary lecture was delivered by Padma Shri Dr. Rabi Narayan Bastia, CEO, Oilmax Energy Pvt. Ltd. Dr. C. S. Mohanty, Senior Principal Scientist, CSIR-NBRI, Lucknow, spoke on the topic “Mainstreaming Underutilized Crops for Providing Household Food and Economic Security”.
Dr. N. K. Dhal, Chief Scientist, CSIR-IMMT, Bhubaneswar chaired the a technical session which had two talks by Dr. Dibyendu Das, Associate Professor, IISER Kolkata and Dr. S. S. Swain, Principal, Shailabala Women’s College, Cuttack. Dr. Saranjit Singh, Pro-VC, KIIT-DU chaired the technical Session-VII having talks by Ms. Priyanka Anand, Vice President and Head HR- Southeast Asia, Oceania and India at Ericsson, Prof. Luna Samanta, Professor and Head of the Department of Zoology, Ravenshaw University, Cuttack and Dr. Sucheta Priyabadini, Director, Student’s Counseling, KIIT-DU, Bhubaneswar.
There was also a buzzing poster session where researchers from different universities of India presented and discussed their work.
The last technical session ended with the chairmanship of Prof. A. K. Sahoo, Dean R & D, KIIT-DU which included the talk by Prof. Saranjit Singh, Pro-Vice Chancellor, KIT-DU, Dr. Kumar Mohanty, Director, Corporate Relations, Dr. Anirban Bandyopadhyay, Associate Professor, KISS-DU, Bhubaneswar and Dr. Chandana Mohanty, Co-ordinator, Department of Biology, KIIT-DU.
The program ended with the valedictory session graced by Dr. Kajal Parashar, Dr. S. K. Singh, Dr. C. S. K. Mishra, Dr. A.K. Sahoo, Dr. C. S. Mohanty, Dr. S. K. S. Parsahar and Dr. Bhavya Bhushan. Dr. Rojalin Pattanayak shared the summary of the event over the two days. Dr. S. K. S. Parashar announced the Best Poster Awards under different categories. The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Bhavya Bhushan, Department of Physics, KIIT-DU.
More than 300 researchers from all over the world participated at the seminar physically. Live streaming of the entire event was done on YouTube and Facebook live, which enabled further more participation of researchers and students.
All sessions were anchored by Ms. Ritu Roumya Samal, Research Scholar, SAS, KIIT-DU. Dr. Kajal Parashar, Convener, ISCA BBSR Chapter expressed heartiest thanks to Arpita, Kamal, Subhashree and Ritu for their tireless effort to make the seminar a success.
