KSFH Organizes Seminar on Gender in Economic
The Department of Economics, School of Social, Financial & Human Sciences (KSFH), KIIT Deemed to be University, organized a seminar on ‘Gender in Economics’ on 25th August, 2023. Prof. Tara Nair, an eminent economist currently heading the Work Fair & Free Foundation, Bangalore, graced the seminar as the Speaker. Prof Keshab Das, Dean, KSFH chaired the seminar and welcomed the speaker and the participants.
Using socio-cultural traits of gender, Prof. Nair explained the concepts of a household, labour markets, and the macroeconomic policies to highlight low female labour-force participation rate in the country. The seminar witnessed encouraging participation from students and faculties across the disciplines, and was organized under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Jayant Kumar Parida, Director, KSFH. Prof. Nair also interacted with the faculty members of the School.
