KIMS Organizes 41st APICON Odisha 2021

The Department of Medicine, KIMS organized the three-day Annual Conference of Association of Physicians of India, Odisha State Branch (41st Apicon Odisha 2021) at KIMS on 18th and 19th December 2021 with Pre-Conference on Critical Care, ECG and ECHO on 17th December 2021. His Excellency Prof. Ganeshi Lal, Hon’ble Governor of Odisha inaugurated the conference in the presence of Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS, Dr. A. Murugunathan, Past President, Association of Physicians of India (API) and other dignitaries. The Inaugural Ceremony was organized in Raj Bhawan, Odisha and telecast live to KIMS Auditorium. The Governor also released the conference souvenir on the occasion.

Amidst the Covid pandemic, the conference was organized in hybrid mode with 200 doctors from different parts of the State attending physically and another 300 doctors attending virtually. Around 150 faculties of national repute from the State as well as outside the State delivered their lectures in this conference.

Apart from scientific deliberations of high quality, a mediquiz and paper presentation competition was also held. Dr. Gourishankar Rao and Dr. Rajdeep Sarkar of KIMS bagged the 1st and 2nd prize in Mediquiz and Free paper presentation respectively. This conference is the first of its kind to be organized in Odisha in hybrid mode.

At the valedictory function, the Chairman, API Odisha State Branch and functionaries of the Association praised the organizers for hosting such a wonderful conference in hybrid mode, abiding all the Covid norms. The national faculties expressed great satisfaction with the infrastructure, ambiance and smooth conduct of the event as well as the quality of the scientific discussions. The Odisha Council for Medical Registration has awarded the  attending delegates six CME credit hours.
