KIMS Pain Specialist invited to ISURA Conference in Canada as faculty

Pain Specialist of Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Dr. Rajendra Sahoo was invited as a faculty for the most popular ultrasound conference in Toronto, Canada. The conference known as ISURA (International Symposium of Ultrasound) for Regional Anesthesia, Pain Medicine and Point of Care Ultrasound Applications has been a major event for the last 20 years across North America and Europe. Dr. Sahoo was the only invited faculty from India.

This meeting aims in spreading the knowledge and application of Ultrasound technology in Musculoskeletal pain diagnosis and therapeutic interventions. Its utility in point of care application in emergency medicine, perioperative care, regional anesthesia and pain management is expanding rapidly helping in rapid and early diagnosis of various disease conditions in the outpatient department and point of care setting.

The ISURA event spanning over four days was well attended by over 500 doctors from across North and South America as well as Europe. Doctor faculties from across North America, South America, the UK, Europe, Australia, Japan, and South Korea joined the event. Dr. Sahoo took one masterclass on “Headache and Craniofacial Pain Blocks” and another workshop on Ultrasound of Elbow, wrist and Ankle. He also participated in the panel discussion on “Knee joint innervation and radiofrequency as well as chemical denervation in knee arthritis’’. Dr. Sahoo’s workshop deliberation was rated 3rd best among 15 different Workshops as per feedback received from the attending doctors.

“It was a proud moment to represent KIMS and India in an international platform and share knowledge and learn from others at the same time,’’ said Dr. Sahoo expressing his gratitude to KIMS management and especially to Founder of KIIT-KISS-KIMS Dr. Achyuta Samanta for the opportunity and support.
