KIMS Doctors, PG Residents Shine in 49th Annual State Conference of Radio Diagnosis

The 49th Annual State Conference of Radio Diagnosis was conducted under the aegis of ORIA and IRIA from 23rd-24th December at Bhubaneswar which was attended by post-graduates and faculties of all Government and Private Medical Institutions, including AIIMS.

Two national-level speakers delivered thought-provoking lectures. KIMS was represented by Dr. Swati Das (Assistant Professor) and Dr. K. Chinmaya (Senior Resident) who delivered talks on “Radiofrequency ablation of surface hepatic lesions” and “Vessel wall Imaging” respectively.

Prof. B.M. Swain was one of the judges for the Oral Paper Presentation. The PG residents from KIMS excelled at the conference with Dr. Akshaya R. (PG 3) and Dr. Sumedha Sirohi (PG 3) securing the first and second positions respectively in the residents’ Quiz competition. Dr. Swati Khanna (PG 2) secured second prize in the Paper presentation. Dr. Sumedha Sirohi won third prize in poster presentation. Their outstanding presence in this academic forum was applauded by all the attending hosts and guests.

For the record, KIMS Radiology residents had also secured top positions in the quiz competition of Dr. Rajendra Rao ICRI 2023 CME on “Head and Neck Imaging”, held from 25-26th November at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, in which Dr. Sumedha Sirohi secured 1st and Dr. Vishal Kumar secured 2nd position.

Dr. Swati Das(Associate Professor) and Dr. Sangram Panda(Associate Professor) were among the few eminent speakers who spoke on the topics of ‘Sino-Nasal neoplasm’ and ‘Maxilla-facial trauma’ respectively.

The CME was held under the aegis of IRIA, ICRI and ORIA and had participants from colleges all over the state along with renowned national-level subject speakers.
