KIIT School of Mechanical Engineering Organizes International Conference on Thermofluids and Manufacturing Science – 2022

School of Mechanical Engineering, KIIT Deemed to be University organized the International Conference on Thermofluids and Manufacturing Science 2022 from 24th to 25th January 2022. Several keynote speakers and invited speakers from different parts of the globe participated in the deliberations.

Speaking at the inaugural session, which was held virtually on Zoom platform, Prof. (Dr.) Saranjit Singh, Pro Vice Chancellor, KIIT and Co-Patron of the Conference narrated the different research facilities available at KIIT-DU and its various achievements in research and development. He explained collaboration opportunities at KIIT for research projects in various niche areas. Welcoming the delegates, Dr. B. C. Routara, Dean, KIIT School of Mechanical Engineering briefly narrated the objectives of the conference. Dr. Gyan Sagar Sinha, Assistant Professor and Convener, SME elucidated the impact and utilities of this conference. The abstract proceedings of ICTMS-2022 were also released virtually.

In his talk, Dr. M. V. Reddy, Scientist, New Graphite World (Nouveau Monde Graphite-NMG) Canada, highlighted the technical and environmental aspects of Lithium ion battery development. He underscored the importance of research in battery technology in the development of electric vehicles.

Dr. Amaresh Kumar, Professor, National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur presented a Keynote address on ‘Disruptive Technology: Influence on Education and Manufacturing’. He is an eminent academician of India. He predicted that the digital technology must be blended with all machines in any industry for continuous growth.

Invited speaker Dr. Kaushik Kumar, Associate Professor, BIT Mesra presented a talk on virtual manufacturing with specific application of gear profile manufacturing. Dr. Kumar stated that different possibilities of virtual manufacturing systems will show the path in the post Covid-19 world.

All the speakers appreciated the organizers and were overwhelmed by knowing about Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS). They praised Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS for the initiative and promised to visit the institute in near future.

The first technical session commenced with the address from the Session Chair Dr. Nilotpala Bej. The session was hosted by Mr. Tejas Sinha, the student coordinator along with Dr. Amlan Panda, FIC Student Affairs, SME as the faculty coordinator. Many participants presented their amazing research activities to the session and were able to communicate their ideas and works to all the attendees of the session

The second technical session began with the address from the Session Chairperson Prof. D.B Jani, GEC Dahod. The session was coordinated by Dr. R. K. Sarangi, SME-KIIT, and hosted by Ayush Bose as the student coordinator for the session. Many participants from different Institutions presented their research work in the session and were happy to communicate their ideas and works to all the attendees of the session.

The third technical session commenced with the address of gathering by the Session Chair Dr. Ravi Kant, IITR, The session was coordinated by Dr. Abhilash Swain and hosted by Student Coordinator Mr. Sagar Kumar. Participants enlightened the session with their research work and were able to communicate their ideas and works to all attendees of the session.

The fourth technical session of the day started with the welcome note from Dr. Zaheen Khan, from Jamia Millia Islamia. It was hosted by Ms. Ekantika Chowdhury,  a student coordinator, along with FIC Dr. P. Chandrasekhar, Associate Dean T&P SME. Several delegates presented and enlightened the session with their informative and novel ideas.
