International Conference on Thermofluids and Manufacturing Science Concludes at KIIT

The two-day International Conference on Thermofluids and Manufacturing Science, organized by KIIT School of Mechanical Engineering, concluded on 25th January 2022. The second day of the virtual conference featured three invited talks and four technical sessions and was attended by eminent researchers and participants from different reputed organizations.

Delivering the keynote address, Prof. Shripad Revankar, School of Nuclear Engineering, Purdue University explained the passive condensation system used in nuclear reactors. Prof. Revankar is a pioneer in nuclear energy research and his work is followed world over in the energy sector. The second talk on lean blow out problem in a combustor was delivered by Prof. Swarnendu Sen, Jadavpur University, Kolkata. The audience got a good insight into the combustion phenomena in gas turbines and IC engines. Prof. Sen is a specialist in combustion system design. An invited talk on ‘Shock Wave Applications’ was delivered by Prof. Nagaraja S.R., Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bengaluru.

At the valedictory session, Prof. K. K. Muduli from Papua New Guinea University of Technology thanked the organizers for a very successful conference and proposed various important research areas that can be taken up to suit current industry demand. Dr. Debjyoti Sahu, Secretary of ICTMS 2022 summed up deliberations in various sessions of the conference. Prof. B. C. Routara, Dean, SME elucidated the impact and reach of this conference. Prof. (Dr.) A. K Sahoo, Director R&D, KIIT and Co-Patron of the Conference narrated the research expertise available at School of Mechanical Engineering and at the Central Research Facility of KIIT. Prof. J. R. Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT-DU emphasized the opportunities at KIIT to collaborate on joint research projects in various niche areas in his concluding remarks. Dr. Spandan Guha proposed the vote of thanks.
