Community Medicine Faculties and PG Students Excel at 41st Annual State Joint Conference of IAPSM & IPHA of Odisha

The 41st Annual State Joint Conference of IAPSM and IPHA of Odisha was held on 9th-10th December at SLN Medical College, Koraput. The conference attracted impressive participation and 250 delegates from all over the state, few from outside the state attended the conference. Prof. (Dr) B. K. Behera, HOD with his entire team consisting of senior faculties and postgraduate students represented KIMS at the state-level conference. Dr. Behera chaired a panel discussion session.

There were three sessions for the Oral paper presentation, and Prof(Dr) Ipsa Mohapatra judged one of those sessions. Among the postgraduates, Dr. Angana Ray, 2nd year PG student bagged the 3rd prize in the Oral paper presentation. Her presentation was on the topic “Unmet need assessment among non-acceptors of Modern Methods of Contraception in Districts with high Total Fertility Rate (TFR) of Odisha.” This study was out of the ICMR extramural proposal, guided by Prof. (Dr.) Sonali Kar.

Among the PG students, Dr Priyaranjan Sahoo, Dr Ritu Sahu, Dr Sneha Bhowmick presented their respective Oral papers and Dr. Asutosh Pradhan, Dr. Dibyajyoti Mandal, Dr Spandan Mishra, Dr Rosy Nayak, Dr. Nirmlaya Mohapatra presented their respective Posters which were also well appreciated by the judges and delegates. Dr. Dibyajyoti Mandal and Dr. Sneha Bhowmick also participated in the PG quiz and stood 5th.
