72nd All India Commerce Conference-2019 Inaugurated at KIIT

The 72nd All India Commerce Conference-2019 was inaugurated at KIIT on 22nd December, 2019. Organized by KIIT Deemed to be University, this Annual Conference of Indian Commerce Association (ICA) will continue till 24th December, 2019.

Inaugurating the Conference, Chief Guest Hon’ble Minister of Finance and Excise, Govt. of Odisha, Shri Niranjan Pujari said that India’s giant leap forward to occupy the centre stage in world economy has been possible because of numerous factors and ICA has great contribution for placing India in a comfortable position.  

“Today, the world is standing at the crossroads, because of the economic slowdown. When we have a dream of achieving 5 Trillion Dollar Economy, Indian Commerce Association has a definite role in realizing India’s Dream”, he added. In this context, The Minster requested all the experts associated with the field of Economics to work hard in order to achieve the dream of India.

At the outset, welcoming the dignitaries, Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Pro-VC of KIIT DU said that today’s economy is over dependent on Commerce and Business. There are professionals in Commerce and Business, who can think about the Community Enterprises.  Sustainable growth of the society is possible, if Community Enterprises grow. Besides the growth of MSME can change the economic scenario of India which can reach up to 5 Trillion Dollar.

In his address, Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT and KISS expressed pleasure because of the trust reposed on KIIT by ICA to host the conference. He thanked Hon’ble Minister, esteemed office bearers of ICA, other delegates and dignitaries on being congregated at KIIT to participate in the coveted All India Commerce Conference.

The President of ICA, Prof. H. Venkasteshwarlu, said that we have our own way of thinking for the growth of the Nation as we have lots of commitments, goals and dreams. Prof. Narendra Kumar, Secretary of ICA, in reading out the Annual Report of Indian Commerce Association, highlighted the accomplishment of the organization.

On this occasion, the highest award of ICA “Prof. Manubhai M. Saha Memorial Award”was conferred on Dr. Hardeep Chahal, Professor, Department of Commerce, and University of Jammu. Four Veteran Professors turned Vice Chancellors of different universities were also felicitated.

Among the dignitaries, Dr. Pushpendra Mishra, Joint Secretary of ICA and Prof. Nawal Kishore, Managing Editor were present among many researchers, scholars, students, and invited guests who have come all the way to the conference from nook and corner of India. Eventually, vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Manas Pandey, Vice President of ICA and Prof. Jayanta Parida, Organizing Secretary of the conference on behalf of ICA and the organizer (KIIT DU) respectively.
