KIIT Hosts 33rd IAOMR Conference NATCON-2022

KIIT Deemed-to-be-University today hosted the three-day 33rd Indian Academy of Oral Medicine and Radiology (IAOMR) National Conference (NATCON-2022). The national meet with more than 1,000 delegates will discuss “emerging trends in oral medicine and radiology.’’ The event is part of KIIT DU’s ongoing silver jubilee celebrations “Soil to Silver’’ commemorating its 25 years of academic excellence.

Chief Guest of the evening Dr K. Satheesh Kumar Reddy, Vice-President Indian Dental Council said “the IOAMR members are now using advance techniques to know the presence of cancer in the oral pockets as the coastal states like Odisha and West Bengal are the most-affected regions due to use of tobacco and its related products. We are also trying to serve the society through the use of new technologies and the distinguished faculties will deliberate on the recent trends during the scientific sessions.’’Reddy also felicitated doyen of oral medicine and radiology Prof Dr KS Ganapathi on this occasion and the members paid a standing ovation to the distinguished expert in dentistry.

Speaking on the occasion Guest of Honour and Registrar of KIIT-DU Prof Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty called for inter-disciplinary research and development so that the research outcome will help the public and in particular rural populace. Prof. Mohanty also added how from a modest beginning in 1997 KIIT-DU has now placed itself as one of the sought-after educational institutions of the globe with a sprawling 25 square kilometer area with 25 campuses, 200 programmes, 28 schools of studies and more than 30,000 students from over 65 nations across the world.

Among others, President IAOMR Dr Vinay Kumar Reddy, Secretary Dr Prashanth Shenoy, Treasurer Dr Dipti Bhatnagar, Organising Chairman Dr K Srinivas, Organizing Secretary Dr Sangamesh NC and Scientific Committee Chairman Dr Silpiranjan Mishra were present.
