KIDS Organizes College Fest “Karukrit 2022”

Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences (KIDS) transformed itself into an arena for sports and cultural activities with the celebrations of college festival ‘Karukrit 2022’ from December 15 to 22. Various events were conducted under the guidance of Indian Association of Public Health Dentistry and the Silver Jubilee Year celebrations of the KIIT-Deemed-to-be University _ Soil to Silver.

KIDS, a constituent of KIIT-DU has carved a niche in the college ecosystem wherein the students through the team spirit, contributed their best to make the event a grand success.Themed under “A December to Remember’,the college fest augmented practical and social learning experiences.  The students of admitted batch 2019 took the initiative and became a major part of the various activities.

There were 21 events conducted for the undergraduates, post-graduates, teaching and non-teaching staff of KIDS. The sports events included cricket tournament, carom, football, volleyball, e-sports andthrow ball. Similarly, the cultural shows had an array of events from various disciplines like literary, music, dancing and theatrics.

A special event “KIDS Got Talent’’ was organized for the very first time. Students had the liberty to showcase any talent they were skilled in on stage.There was also a treasure hunt organized, which attracted the participation of many students. All the events brought the entire college together in a celebration mood. The authorities believe that students’ journey in the college should encourage them to emerge as high – spirited leaders.  

Extracurricular activities also help in the understanding of the curriculum as well. It gives the students the confidence to take a call on a crucial decision making process in their respective departments concerned and lead a task and its execution.

The events were concluded with an award ceremony on December 21 by facilitating the winners, graced by Deputy Director Dr. Jugajyoti Pathi, Principal Dr. Aswini Kumar Kar and Vice-Principal Dr. Sangamesh NC, among others.
