KIDS Organizes AIDS Awareness Day

Following the philosophy of “Art of Giving” initiated by the Founder of KIIT & KISS Dr. Achyuta Samanta, an awareness education programme was conducted at YMCA, Unit VIII, Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar on December 1 by Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences (KIDS) coinciding with the occasion of World AIDS Day.

The event was organized by the NSS unit of KIDS and the Department of Public Health Dentistry with a Damana-based social service organization Jeevan Rekha Parishad. Faculty member Dr. Sovesh and KIDS postgraduate students Dr. Anushka and Dr. Spandita with final year students from the department conducted the programme.

More than 100 youth and people from various walks of life attended the event. The awareness education on AIDS/HIV and how to prevent the spread of the disease was conducted with the help of posters and the distribution of red ribbons. It was followed by a rally that marched along the local market with slogans to mark the occasion.
