Director, Student Counselling, KIIT-DU Selected as Executive Director (South Asia), SACLG, Australia
Prof. Sucheta Priyabadini, Director, Student Counselling, KIIT Deemed to be University has been selected to become the Executive Director (South Asia) of the South Asian Community Link Group (SACLG) Australasia. SACLG (https://www.saclg.org/) has been a pre-eminent Asian community think tank for more than 12 years working with the state and the federal governments in Australia.
Given her unique understanding of Australia-India ties through her Monash University links and Endeavour Fellowship, Prof. Priyabadini has been an active contributor to SACLG’s bilateral initiatives to engage Australia and India through several diplomatic, academic, and co-curricular activities in the last three years. “We in Australia highly value her expertise and welcome her to join our team to connect Australia to South Asia,” said Mr. Deepak Vinayak OAM JP, Community Leader, Melbourne, Australia.
In several discussions in the past with SACLG’s Australian team, she has shared the inspiring story of Founder, KIIT & KISS, Dr Achyuta Samanta’s life, commitment, and how millions of young people in Odisha and India look up to him as an inspiration. “We are very keen to work with you and explore possibilities of developing partnerships with the Victorian and Australian governments, especially in the areas of common concern including indigenous studies. Your successful initiatives to educate the most vulnerable in Indian society need to be studied globally and applied to many countries in the world including Australia”, added Mr. Vinayak.
Mr. Vinayak assured, “We can explore working together to promote KISS and KIIT-DU in Australia and beyond. Prof. Sucheta has been working in consultation with their academic and industry partners in Australia and beyond on these ideas to suggest concrete initiatives in this direction in the next two months”.
