KIIT Polytechnic will soon be modeled on the lines of the world famous Nanyang Polytechnic in Singapore. In keeping with this objective, a 40-member delegation, including the faculty and staff, of KIIT Polytechnic left for Singapore today for a week-long ‘exposure visit’. 

During their visit, the delegation will acquire the latest knowledge and skills there, apart from interacting with the faculty and students about the infrastructure, teaching methods, and the use of the latest technology.

A driving force behind this transformative initiative is the Founder of KIIT & KISS Dr. Achyuta Samanta, whose unwavering commitment is aimed at elevating KIIT Polytechnic to a global institution mirroring the accomplishments of Nanyang Polytechnic. Prior to their departure, he extended his warm congratulations to the team and conveyed his best wishes for their success. The departure ceremony also saw the presence of KIIT Vice Chancellor Prof. Saranjit Singh and Registrar Prof. J. R. Mohanty.

AAROHAN-2023. The Welcome ceremony of KIIT Polytechnic  was held on October ,04,2023 at OAT-1, Campus-3 with a sense of enthusiasm and optimism. The celebration was graced by dignitaries, including the Founder of KIIT and KISS  Prof.(Dr.)Achyuta Samanta,  Vice Chancellor KIIT-DU Prof.(Dr.)Saranjit Singh, Registrar KIIT-DU ,Prof.(Dr.) Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Secretary KIIT & KISS  Shri Rabi Narayan Das and Dr. Tanmaya Mohanty, Principal each sharing insightful messages and visions for the future.

 Hon’ble Foundertold  about his initiatiation for  lateral entry paving the way from ITI to PhD.In his address, he announced that a new campus for KIIT Polytechnic is set to bematerialized next year.  This expansion aims to provide students with a conducive environment for learning and innovation and a hub for skill development. Prof. Saranjit Singh drew an analogy with the concept of ‘higher entropy.’ He inspired students to channel potential chaos and disorder into meaningful, productive work. Esteemed Registrar, Prof. JnyanaRanjanMohanty highlighted the essence of discipline in the academic journey.It was jam-packed with lightning –fast student performances. Engineers’ Day, which commemorates the birth anniversary of the visionary engineer Sir M. Visvesvaraya, was celebrated with enthusiasm at KIIT Polytechnic on 15^th September 2023. Delivering a guest lecture on this occasion, Dr. Kartik Chandra Swain, Former Scientist at ISRO, emphasized the importance of passion, hard work, and commitment to achieving success as an engineer. He also narrated the impressive achievements of Indian space engineers in various space missions, including Chandrayaan.

Sharing his personal journey and experiences, Mr. Saroj Ku. Das, an alumnus of KIIT Polytechnic currently working as an Automation Project Manager at TPWODL, emphasized attendance, obedience, and discipline as essential aspects of students’ lives to achieve success.

In his presidential address, Shri R. N. Dash, Secretary of KIIT & KISS, explained how KIIT has now become an international brand under the leadership of its Founder, Prof. Achyuta Samanta. Dr. T. Mohanty, Principal of Kalinga Polytechnic, informed that the 10 best projects of KIIT Polytechnic participated in a state-level project exhibition. Mr. S. K. The KIIT Polytechnic, ranked no 1 in Odisha, will soon be modelled after the world-famous Nanyang Polytechnic of Singapore. Disclosing this during the 29^th foundation day celebration of KIIT Polytechnic here on Sunday, the Founder of KIIT and KISS Dr. Achyuta Samanta said the staff of the polytechnic will visit Singapore to acquire modern knowledge and skills.

KIIT Polytechnic has been ranked as the best polytechnic in Odisha for the second time in a row this year among both public and private polytechnics in the state by Quality Council of India (QCI)’s National Accreditation Board for Education and Training (NABET). Students from the institute are also represented consistently in large numbers in the merit list of the State Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training.

Applauding the institute’s principal Prof. Tanmay Mohanty, faculties and staff for the achievements, Dr. Samanta said the polytechnic’s new campus will be upgraded with state-of-art facilities. The industry visit and industry relationship initiatives will also be strengthened, he added. On the occasion, the Founder also inaugurated a new conference hall.

KIIT and KISS Secretary R. N. Dash said KIIT Polytechnic has always maintained the quality of its teaching and has remained the foremost polytechnic in Odisha because of the determination and hard work of the teachers under the guidance of the Founder. KIIT Polytechnic has been ranked as the best polytechnic in Odisha among all the state and private-run polytechnics by National Accreditation Board for Education and Training (NABET), a constituent Board of Quality Council of India (QCI). The ranking results were declared today by Pritiranjan Gharai, Minister of Rural Development, Skill Development & Technical Education, Govt. of Odisha. KIIT Polytechnic secured the highest score of 581 and topped the ranking, which was based on 7 parameters. Total 100 polytechnics, both Government and Private, participated in the rankings. KIIT Polytechnic has been ranked as the best polytechnic in Odisha consecutively for the second time in a row.

The rankings of the polytechnics in Odisha were carried out for the first time in 2022. The exercise came against the backdrop of the State Government’s enhanced focus on improving the quality of technical institutes and identifying the best ones that adhere to quality teaching. The rankings were carried out by NABET-QCI and State Council for Vocational Education and Training.

The announcement was met with jubilation by the students, teachers and staff of KIIT Polytechnic. KIIT Founder Dr. Achyuta Samanta lauded the efforts of KIIT Polytechnic Principal, Dr. Tanmay Mohanty, the teachers and staff, saying, the ranking was a big achievement as the institute was adjudged the best among all government and private Polytechnics. He especially extended his greeting to the students for their success.

Verma,cluster head,business HR Tata Power and Dr. Sasmita rani Samanta, Vice –Chancellor of KIIT-DU.The ceremony was attended by officials from IEC,academic heads from SoT,KP and students. Students of KIIT Polytechnic excelled at the State Polyfest, in winning the Table Tennis (boys single) competition. The event was held on February 27-28 in various locations such as the Kalinga Stadium, Saheed Nagar Indoor Stadium and Bhanja Kalamandap. 

An eight-member team from the KIIT Polytechnic participated in the event. Students from the team secured the 1^st position in 400 mt. Race (Boys) and Essay competition (English). The team secured the 2^nd position in Javelin Throw (Girls); High Jump (Boys) & runners-up in Badminton (Boys Single & Doubles). They received medals and certificates from the Director of Technical Education & Training on 28^th February 2023.

All the staff members and students of KIIT Polytechnic felicitated the winners on the campus on 1^st March 2023.

KIIT Polytechnic became the first polytechnic in the East zone to be an exclusive training partner for Fusion 360, Autodesk. In a ceremony of MOU signing between Twintech Pvt. Ltd & KIIT Polytechnic, the Director of Twintech offered a certificate of appreciation to KIIT Polytechnic, and also a design software released recently by Autodesk.

Remarkably, KIIT Polytechnic is the first polytechnic in the East Zone to have bagged the honour. Two of KP’s students got “Student Expert” certification during a Faculty Development Program at World Skill Center. On the occasion, an MOU was signed between the organizations towards grooming faculty and student experts in this module.

The National Board of Accreditation has accredited three diploma engineering programmes of KIIT Polytechnic. The accreditation certifies the institutional activities, structure and achievement towards attaining desired outcomes.

A six-member team of experts from NBA visited the institution during 4-6 November 2022 and assessed several criteria. They included teaching, learning, faculty contribution, student progression, infrastructure and governance.

In August 2022, KIIT Polytechnic was awarded Rank 1 among all government and private polytechnics of the state by QCI & SCTE & VT. On the achievement, the Founder of KIIT-KISS and KIIT Polytechnic Dr. Achyuta Samanta congratulated the students, staff, saying it is a big achievement for the institute. The accreditation comes at a time when KIIT is holding its silver jubilee celebration. KIIT Polytechnic was established in 1995.

KIIT Polytechnic conducted Induction Program for first-year students on 29^th October 2022. Addressing the students, Dr. Tanmaya Mohanty, Principal, KIIT Polytechnic outlined the program’s objectives and presented a brief profile of the institute and the Founder of KIIT & KISS. In addition to the regular curriculum, KIIT Polytechnic provides “SPICE” – Skill, Products, Interns, Connects and Exposure – to the students, he said, while highlighting the success story of the last academic year.

Vice-Principal Mr. Sukanta Kumar Rout explained the academic curriculum, examination and evaluation system in Diploma Engineering. Mr. Lalita Mohan Lenka, HoD, BSH & Coordinator, Students’ Affairs introduced facilities for different student activities and clubs for their all-round development. He advised students to cultivate determination, devotion and dedication to become successful professionals. Mr. Satya Sundar Das, Deputy Director spoke on ethics and code of conduct during students’ life. He briefed about different facilities available for the students, including KIMS, Sports and KISS Temple. Ms. Sradhanjali Das, Lecturer, Physics & Coordinator, 1st Year proposed the vote of thanks.
