]]>School-wise Career Orientation programs were organized by the Career Advisory & Augmentation School (CAAS) and Training & Placement Department for all the Schools of Technology for the 2020-2024 Batch students.
The aim of the program was to make the students aware of career opportunities and orient them on industry readiness and its prerequisites, thereby making use of their valuable transit time towards successful placements, while participating actively in Placement Training Programs and allied Industry-engagement activities. The focus was on engaging students in Placement Preparedness Training, Internships Placement & Internships, Platform-Based Learning and Assessments.
Prof. Priyadarshi Biswal, Dean CAAS highlighted the up-coming campus opportunities for the students, the current industry requirements from the placement point of view and apprised them of the basic level of preparedness required from a very advantageous time as hiring and engagement process starts from the early days of pre-final year itself.
Prof. Suman Bhattacharya, Director, CAAS mentioned the technology shift and adaptations happening in the current times. He briefed students about the chain of digital offerings rolled out by KIIT, designed by senior academicians with guidance from Industry Experts.
Prof. Prachet Bhuyan, Dean-T&P threw light on various projects and internship opportunities available and ways to crack them which will be helpful for the upcoming placements, while Prof. Abhishek Ray, Dean-IE briefed the students about the basic functionalities and role of CAAS, T&P, and Industry Engagement wing in helping students choose their interest area wisely by equipping themselves in the right way. ]]>A five-day Workshop on ‘Hands-On Training-cum-Workshop on Cyber Security’ was conducted by CAAS for B.Tech and MCA students. The workshop was strategically planned before the Day One Recruitment Drives to make students ready according to the industry standards and requirements in the field of Cyber Security. The program covered Ethical Hacking, Metasploit using Kali Linux, Digital Forensics and investigation, Machine Learning and Cybersecurity and Bug Bounty.
Speaking at the inaugural session, Dr. Suman Bhattacharya, Director, CAAS stated that the pandemic resulted in evolving the digital technologies such as Cloud and Data Science thereby increasing the need for Cyber Security manifold. In view of the rising cyber crimes, the UGC asked universities and their affiliated colleges to create awareness among students to tackle the unforeseen challenges of cybercrime and to strengthen Cyber Security, he added.
Guest speaker, Mr. Sandeep Sengupta explained the necessity of ethical hacking and cyber security. He outlined different wings of cyber security and job opportunities in the field, while touching upon the topics in the workshop. Live demonstrations and Hands-On exercises in different areas were also held for the participants. Trainer Mr. Debraj hand holded the students on areas of Ethical Hacking and Metasploit using Kali Linux. Similarly, trainer Mr. Sanchayan covered the topics, Digital Forensics and investigation, Machine Learning & Cyber-security. Similarly, trainer Mr. Sougata explained the topic of Bug Bounty.
In his vote of thanks, Prof. Priyadarshi Biswal, Dean, CAAS said, Cyber security is of utmost importance for the upcoming placement preparations. Around 500 students attended the session along with faculty members of CAAS.

]]>Student Counseling Cell along with CAAS, KIIT organized a virtual session on “Career Strategies” on 24th July 2021. Students and faculty members from all the Schools of KIIT-DU participated in large numbers at the workshop. The workshop was conducted by Ms. Kaumudi Goda, Singapore.
Introducing the speaker, Dr. Sucheta Priyabadini, Director, Student Counseling, KIIT-DU mentioned that organizing such workshops was in line with the practice followed by the Counseling Cell of KIIT in providing exposure to the students in domain areas that are relevant to them, by inviting international experts.
Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar welcomed the speaker and expressed his gratitude to her for addressing the students of KIIT. He spoke highly of the spectacular achievements of Ms. Goda. He also mentioned the Founder’s inspiration in driving student beneficial academic and non-academic programs in KIIT.
Ms. Kaumudi Goda started the session with a very powerful exercise aimed at exploring one’s interests. She spoke of the Japanese philosophy Ikigai that talks about the perfect spot of happiness, joy, motivation and power. The session was taken forward with interesting concepts such as circle of influence, sense of self-worth, realising things which are in our control, going with Plan B besides Plan A, and career planning and how to project self.
At the end of her presentation, she thanked Dr. Priyabadini for inviting her for being a part of KIIT forum and expressed her happiness in seeing active participation and interaction by such a large number of students.
The students actively participated in the training exercises and posed a number of questions which were addressed by Ms. Goda. Faculty members and students requested her to revisit KIIT for another such session. Prof. A. K. Sar, Prof. Kajal Parashar, Dr. Binita Behera and other faculty members were present.
Ms. Kaumudi Goda is a Consultant and Coach at the “Human Conversation” and Board Member and D&I Director at Data Visualization Society, Singapore. She is an award-winning public speaker, executive coach, trainer, and facilitator. She functions as the Co-Chair for “Key Note,” a non-profit organization focused on bringing diversity to speaking stages across the world. She is also the Chief Operating Officer for Meta Mind Training, a learning and development consulting company based in Singapore.
Prof. Somresh Mishra complimented Ms. Goda on her diverse achievements. Proposing the vote of thanks, Dr. Priyadarshi Biswal, Dean CAAS said, the topic holds relevance at this critical juncture, especially in the context of the pandemic. Ms. Goda with her inspiring presentation laced with anecdotes, highlighted the essence of spreading the movement of positivity for an inclusive future and individual growth which could be realized through collective intelligence and reverse engineering, integrating one’s family and friends. The enthusiastic participation of students made the session wonderful, he said. On behalf of KIIT, he conveyed heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Goda for her address and requested her for conducting more such sessions for the students on a larger platform.

The objective of the webinar was to educate students about GATE and its importance for Engineers as it is the gateway to higher studies and PSU jobs. It made the students aware of GATE/ESE Examination contents, question pattern and level along with other benefits of GATE/ESE and preparation strategies.
The subject matter expert, Mr. Rakesh Talreja, AIR 9th@GATE, an M.Tech from IISc Bangalore with 10+ years of teaching experience, discussed everything threadbare. In his talk to the students, he gave informative tips on GATE preparation, marks distribution, statistics, results and explained how to execute one’s strategy. More than 500 students registered for the Webinar.

]]>A webinar titled “Road to IIM @ MBA” was organized by Career Advisory & Augmentation School, KIIT-DU. The main motto of the webinar was to sensitize the B. Tech and BBA students about CAT Preparation Courses for pursuing MBA as a higher study in various IIMs. The webinar provided students the basic understanding of the career after MBA, CAT/GMAT Preparation and their qualifying details, etc. It also gave a brief snapshot on CAT 2019 and 2020 and insights to develop good logical skills along with reasoning and calculation abilities.
The welcome address was given by Dean CAAS, Dr. Priyadarshi Biswal, while the context was set by Director CAAS, Dr. Suman Bhattacharya. The session commenced with the detailed presentation by the distinguished speaker, Mr. Samrat Biplab Ray, a veteran management educator of national repute, who has been training students for more than 15 years. ]]>School-wise career orientation programs were organized over two days by the Career Advisory & Augmentation School (CAAS) and Training & Placement Dept., KIIT Deemed to be University for all the Schools of Technology for the 2020-2024 Batch students.
The motto of the program was to orient and equip the students on industry readiness and its prerequisites, thereby making use of their valuable transit time before entry into 3rd semester. The program helped students understand and focus on the Bucketization Pattern; viz., Higher Studies, Job Programs, Competitive Examinations, Start Ups/Entrepreneurships, Soft Skills, etc., which is initiated to align the students with Platform-Based Learning and Assessment from the very beginning of the career journey. Experts across different verticals presented the road map against each bucket clarifying the journey from campus to corporate.
Setting the context, Prof. Priyadarshi Biswal, Dean, CAAS welcomed everyone and highlighted the on-campus opportunities including the complete career roadmap designed for meeting the aspirations of KIITians and apprised them of the basic level of preparedness required for Industry Internships/Capstone Projects/Employability Enhancement with GATE, IES, etc. from a very opportune time as hiring and engagement process starts from the early days of pre-final year itself.
In his address, Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT-DU briefed the students about the basic functionalities and role of CAAS, T&P, Industry Engagement and Corporate Relation wings in helping students choose their interest area wisely by equipping themselves in the right way. He urged the students to elevate their level of performance and preparedness to meet the expectations of corporates, research houses, etc., while highlighting the coveted accomplishments of the University and the vision and farsightedness of Founder, Prof. Achyuta Samanta.
Mr. Gaurav from MyPerfectice, presented the in-house LMS, i.e Myperfectice Platform with its semester-wise interventions, assessments and e-learning details. Prof. Prachet Bhuyan, Dean T&P threw light on various capstone Projects and Internship Opportunities available and ways to crack them along with the parameters required for the same.
Prof. Suman Bhattacharya, Director, CAAS mentioned the technology shift and adaptation happening in the current times. He briefed students about the chain of digital offerings rolled out by KIIT, envisioned and designed by senior academicians with guidance from Industry Experts. Prof. Abhishek Ray, Dean IE addressed the multiple queries of the students on career, competencies, projects etc. giving insightful details of the journey from campus to corporate and offered vote of thanks. Senior professors and tutor-mentors in good numbers participated in the program.
The two-day session was organized in four phases aimed at facilitating multiple career opportunities, besides Employability Training offered by CAAS with specific roadmaps to achieve career goals with specialized interventions through different digital and social platforms.

Speaking at the Orientation Session, Prof. Priyadarshi Biswal, Dean, CAAS emphasized the pre-requisites of industry during the ongoing virtual hiring process. Dr. Suman Bhattacharya, Director, CAAS enlightened the students with the technology shift and adaptation happening in the current times. Prof. Saranjit Singh, Director IE & Placements apprised the students of the current industry scenario and focused on the need of getting skilled up and equipped with proper hands-on experience in order to compete for the high-end jobs and internships. All the Big Fours have visited KIIT for Campus Placements, including the KIIT Fintech Lab @ High Radius Corporation. They have all acknowledged the exemplary interest and outstanding performances of KIITians in both internships and jobs in the consulting sector.
The motto of the program was to make the students understand and focus while preparing themselves with proper readiness in sync with the needs and requirements of the Consulting Sector.
Prof. Priyadarshi Biswal, Dean-CAAS set the context of the webinar, while the convener Prof. Saranjit Singh, Director, IE informed students that since there is a growing demand for Career in Consulting, students must align themselves with the opportunities. He explained the hiring process of the Big Four along with guiding students on the process of applying, policies, rules and how to prepare themselves to fit into the requirements.
Prof. Suman Bhattacharya, Director-CAAS highlighted the transformative impact of the career opportunities in the Consulting vertical & made students aware about the changed hiring process in the current scenario. He also mentioned that since the University has tied up with one of the leading Fintech companies, HRC, students must make the best of the opportunity.
