FICCI ‘Personality of the Year Award’ for Dr. Achyuta Samanta
Educationist and Social Activist Dr. Achyuta Samanta was conferred with ‘Personality of the Year Award’ by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI). The award was presented during the 15th FICCI Higher Education Summit 2019 held in New Delhi on November 27, 2019. It was a recognition for his lifetime contribution in the field of education as well as his passion and commitment to bring further excellence in the sector. Earlier, Dr. Samanta joined as a speaker at the 15th FICCI Higher Education Summit 2019 and spoke on the role of education in social development.
The selection of award has been done by a high-level Jury panel, Chaired by Dr. R. A. Mashelkar (Indian National Research Professors and Chancellor, Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research) and co-chaired by Dr. Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education.

In this context, FICCI has instituted the ‘FICCI Higher Education Excellence Awards’ to felicitate achievements of institutions and individuals for improving the quality of Higher Education in India and for driving themselves & the sector towards increased employability, delivery of quality education, visionary thinking, use of technology and partnerships in improving Higher Education System at large.
