The Hostel Sports Events 2026 – Art & Painting Contest for first-year students was successfully organized on 17th January 2026 at the KP-7(B) Block Ground. The event showcased the creativity, competitive spirit, and discipline of hostel students, and was conducted with great enthusiasm.
The contest witnessed the registration of around 40 participants and was held over the weekend. Students expressed their artistic skills on themes such as “NashaMukt Bharat Abhiyaan – Say No to Drugs,” “Nature & Landscape,” “Technology & Future,” “Patriotism/Nation,” and “Social & Global Issues.”
The artworks were scrutinized by faculty members of the School of Electronics Engineering, namely Dr. Sandeep Dash, Deputy Superintendent, KP-5A; and Prof. Nageswara Rao, Assistant Professor. Based on their evaluation, the positions were finalized as:1st – Mr. Anuvab Chanda (Roll No. 25051622), KP-7AB; 2nd – Mr. Rishant Kumar (Roll No. 25155037), KP-7E; and 3rd – Mr. Shreyansh Nigam (Roll No. 2530145), KP-7E, respectively.
A word of encouragement and appreciation was delivered by Mr. Snehasish Rout, Director (General Administration & Hostel Affairs), who also planned and coordinated the event with the support of the Administrative Officials of the Hostel Department. Subsequently, the position holders were awarded medals and position certificates, while participation certificates were distributed to all participating students.
The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Prasanta Kumar Patra, Warden, Boys Hostels; Dr. Kajal Parashar, Warden, Girls Hostel; and Dr. Mrutyunjay Das, Senior Superintendent KP-7AB&C, who congratulated and encouraged the participants. Prof. S.K.S Parashar, School of Applied Sciences; Dr. Rasmi Ranjan Mishra, Deputy Superintendent KP-7AB; Dr. Suvendu Barik, Deputy Superintendent KP-7AB, and other officials were also present.
Overall, the event was highly appreciated and thoroughly enjoyed by the students, making it a memorable and successful initiative under Hostel Sports Events 2026.
