Freedom in the mind, strength in the words, pureness in our blood, pride in our souls, zeal in our hearts, let’s salute our India on Republic Day.
On 26th January 2021, ‘NSS-SME’, KIIT School of Mechanical Engineering organized the Republic Day Celebration virtually. The event commenced with the National Anthem sung by one of the volunteers, whilst the whole ‘NSS-SME’ paid tribute to the tricolour. This was followed by inspirational words by Dr. Kajal Parashar, Program Coordinator, KIIT NSS Bureau, and Dr. Deepak Singhal, Programme Officer, NSS SME. “Proud to be an Indian” was the motto of this virtual event.
Despite the current pandemic scenario, the volunteers left no stone unturned to make the event a success. They donned tricolor themed dresses during their performances. A plethora of cultural events were performed on the occasion. First was the ‘Cultural Team’ which performed a poem and two songs which brought out the inner patriot in all the members present there. This was followed by a performance by the ‘Nukkad Team’ which focused on the “Forgotten History of India”. It gave the lesson that India is a nation having numerous festivals, each having its significance, and should not be mixed up with one another. The programme ended with a presentation by the ‘Awareness Team’ thus informing everyone about the significance of this day.
NSS SME extended its gratitude to Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS; Prof. Hrushikesha Mohanty, Vice-Chancellor, KIIT; Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Pro Vice-Chancellor, KIIT; Dr. B. C. Routra, Dean, SME; Dr. Kajal Parashar, Program Coordinator, KIIT NSS Bureau; and Dr. Deepak Singhal, Programme Officer, NSS SME, KIIT for their constant support and encouragement.
