‘AERO HUB’, a popular Youtube channel, hosted Aerospace Design Challenge 2021 in collaboration with Space Development Nexus, Dautiya Aerospace and Helium Learning Labs in March 2021. A team of two students, Mr. Shibasish Mitra and Ms. Sneha Mondal, who are pursuing 2nd Year Aerospace Engineering at KIIT School of Mechanical Engineering, presented a new, modified design of a rocket.
KIIT team finished in the top 5 in the 1st round of the Challenge, which was participated by both B.Tech and M.Tech students of different universities from all over the country. The Aerospace Design Challenge chose only five teams to present their original work for the Grand Finale, though more than 60 teams of Young Engineers made it through the short-listing.
In the 2nd round, KIIT team cleared the interview and came in the 5th position. Further, they were offered internships at Space Development Nexus and Dautiya Aerospace. The finals were adjudged by former ISRO Mission Director Dr. Sundaramurthy T. K.; Prof. (Dr.) R. Rajasekarfrom, MVJ College of Engineering Bangalore; Mr. P. Radhakrishnan, CEO of Dautya Aerospace; and Mr. Govind Yadav, Chief Innovation Officer, Space Development Nexus, Delhi.
KIIT management has congratulated both the students for their superb feat.
