Research Group Humanitarian Engineering,Open Innovation and Living Laboratory in KIIT-DU Organises International Student Summit

The Research Group on  Humanitarian Engineering, Open Innovation and  Living Laboratory in KIIT-DU organised the International Student Summit “Co-Creating Rural Future: Humanitarian Engineering and Living Labs” on September 21-22, 2021. The event was an outcome of  participation of  students in two courses on Advanced Strategic Project Management under Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL)  programme in association with Coventry University, UK and U of Dayton USA. Ninety five students from all the three Universities had completed these courses in both Autumn semester 2020 and Spring semester 2021.

The summit was graced by Prof. Hrushikesha Mohanty, Vice Chancellor, KIIT-DU; Dr. Ashok Agarwal, Director, EWB-India (Engineers without Borders); U of Coventry Professors Dr. Karim Ahmed and Dr. David Luigi Fuschi from School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Automotive Engineering from Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Computing CU; Dr Debasis Mohapatra, Resident Representative, The World Bank Group; Shri Subash Ray, COO, NALCO Foundation; Shri Diganta Mohanty, Programme Director, TRICKLEUP ASIA; Shri Ashok Methil, Ex-CGM NABARD, Dr. Abha Mishra, State Programme Head, UNDP; and Mr. Niladri B. Mohanty from National Informatics Centre. The keynote speakers encouraged the students’ presentation for the rightful blend of Humanitarian Engineering Innovation Projects embedded with Digital Project Management skills.

A Book of Abstracts marking the occasion was released by the dignitaries. The interdisciplinary research group in KIIT DU is currently active in the design and delivery of online courses and research in Humanitarian Engineering, Science and Technology Innovation.
