KIIT Robotics Society Organizes Online Workshop on IoT

KIIT Robotics Society, in collaboration with Karkhana Maker-space, organized a two-day workshop on the Internet of Things (IoT). The Internet of Things has evolved from the convergence of wireless technologies, micro electromechanical systems and promises to revolutionize how we live and work. The workshop, held on 17th – 18th April 2021, was organized by the members of the Society and was presided by the faculty mentor, Prof. (Dr.) Nirmal Kumar Rout, Director- Student Research Cell. It was coordinated by faculty coordinators, Prof. Mano Ranjan Kumar, Dr. Vimal Shrivastava and Prof. B. N. Rao.

The opening ceremony was graced by Dr. Suprava Patnaik, Dean, School of Electronics Engineering; Dr. Amlan Dutta, Associate Dean and faculty members of the Schools. The workshop witnessed a plethora of technical sessions which were taken by Mr. Siddharth Bhatter, CEO, Karkhana Makerspace. He efficiently and diligently guided the startup to be listed under Top 40 Startups by EDEX India 2018. The sessions were focused on familiarizing the participants with various IoT concepts, all from the scratch, and exploring its present day utilities. The highlight of the workshop was the live demonstration of IoT-based projects and a mini hackathon that was conducted for interested participants where the top 10 performers were awarded IoT kits. A large number of students attended the workshop eagerly.
