The School of Electronics Engineering, KIIT Deemed to be University (KIIT-DU) organized the 3rd International Conference on Communications, Circuits and Systems (IC3S2020) from 16th-18th October 2020 on virtual mode. Inaugurating the conference, Padma Shri Prof. Ajoy Kumar Ray, Director, JISISAR and former professor in IIT Kharagpur described how applications of recent technology like data science, advanced sensors, artificial intelligence are changing the world very fast. Shri Aninda Bose, Senior Editor, Springer, New Delhi, Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Pro-Vice Chancellor, KIIT-DU; Dr. Arun K. Ray, Director, KIIT School of Electronics Engineering; and Dr Sukanta Sabat also graced the inaugural session.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Aninda Bose said that quality research and publication has become more important as an increasing number of online conferences are being organized due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In his welcome address, Dr. Ray highlighted the collaborative research towards sustainability. Dr. Sukanta Sabat, Organizing Chair, briefed about the conference, while Prof. Sruti Singh proposed the vote of thanks.
The three-day conference featured plenary talks by eminent speakers from institutes of repute and industries, Prof. Raja Datta, Head, G.S Sanyal School of Telecommunication, IIT Kharagpur; Prof Sherif, Sherif from University of Manitoba, Canada; and Dr. C. P. Ravikumar, Technical Director, Texas Instruments India. Their talks covered areas of IOT, deep learning, 5G communication, optical coherence tomography, and smart world.
Total 12 sessions, chaired by professors from different reputed institutions, were conducted for scientific presentation of the selected papers. One best scientific paper was selected for the award of cash prize Rs.5000. The proceeding of the conference is accepted for publication in “Lecture Notes in Electrical Engineering” the Springer-nature series.
About 170 participants from all over the country joined in the meet. Total 234 papers were received from across India in the areas of intelligent computing, advances in communications, signal processing and control, and VLSI & Embedded Systems, out of which only 70 papers were accepted for presentation and publication after rigorous review by more than 150 reviewers from different institutions of the country. The acceptance rate was about 30%. The conference concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. Deepak Rout.
