Counselling Session for Staff & Family Members of KIIT School of Computer Science Engineering
A virtual counselling session was organized for the staff members and their families of KIIT School of Computer Science Engineering on 11th May 2021. The topic of the session was “Hope in Times of COVID”. More than 50 staff and their family members participated in the session.
Dr Sucheta Priyabadini, Director Students Counselling spoke on the need for staying safe and taking care of self and family members, during these difficult times. To address issues on the clinical side, she had invited Dr. Lalita Patnaik, In-charge PG Cell, KIMS. The committee members formed recently by Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS, to counsel the staff, also interacted with the participants.
Addressing the participants, Dr. Lalita created general awareness about the current COVID situation, including typical symptoms, and spoke about the necessary precautions and also some do’s and don’ts to deal with the situation. Several concerns which the staff and their family members expressed, were adequately addressed by Dr Lalita to their complete satisfaction. Her address brought in a general atmosphere of hope and optimism.
Prof Kajal Parashar, Deputy Director, Community Engagement Cell gave her concluding remarks on the subject. Ms Linkan Subudhi, Convener (AOG & Outreach Program) and Ms Sadhana Mishra, Coordinator (Social Development) were present during the session. Ms Rajlaxmi Panda, Dy. Director (Student Counseling) thanked everyone for their presence and active involvement in the session.
