KIIT School of Computer Applications observed “National Youth Day” to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda on 12th January 2022.
Gracing the event, the fastest woman sprinter of India Ms. Dutee Chand, who has set a significant milestone in the field of athletics and has become an inspiration for every youth of the country, delivered a talk.She briefly described her grooming in a nuclear family and the difficulties she had come across during her childhood days. She recalled how her sports journey started from running beside the river bank near a small village.
During her deliberation, she shared a glimpse of all her achievements including both National and International medals, her experiences in Olympics, Commonwealth Games, Arjun Award, post Olympic felicitation by President and Prime Minister of India etc. Athlete Dutee Chand, was highly honored by the founder of KIIT and KISS, and Parliamentarian Dr. Achyuta Samanta. She conveyed a brief yet vital message to the upcoming generation that, other than education, there are many fields like sports, art and culture etc. which can also be adopted by youth in order to excel themselves in the society.
The occasion was also graced by Prof.(Dr.)Kajal Parashar, Programme Coordinator, KIIT-NSS Bureau, and all the Program officers of NSS wing of KIIT Deemed to be University. Professor Sadhna Sudershana of KIIT School of Computer Applications, welcomed the speaker with an introductory note, and welcomed the NSS volunteers, the participants of the event and all the dignitaries. Professor Prachi Vijayeeta addressed the gathering with a brief introduction to the topic
Following the formal meeting, nearly 6 NSS student volunteers deliberated theme based speeches, poems, shayaris and songs. NSS Volunteer – Saishree of BCA-6th Semester anchored the cultural event on the whole. Professor Manas Mukul and Professor B.B. Dash of KIIT School of Computer Applications, handled the technical and the social media aspect of this event. The event was absolutely a bilateral discussion among the speaker and the participants, that energized the whole event. The moral support of all the staff members of KSCA and NSS wing of KIIT Deemed University enlightened the enthusiasm of volunteers to conduct various upcoming events.
