Dr. Dipti Ranjan Biswal, Associate Professor, School of Civil Engineering, KIIT Deemed to be University delivered two technical sessions as a Resource Person in the five-day AICTE-ATAL Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Advanced Civil Engineering Software Usage in Infrastructure Development” organized by G Pulla Reddy Engineering College (A), Kurnool on 5th July 2021.
The theme of session-2 was “Basics of Structural Analysis and Design”. In this session, Dr. Biswal elaborated structural idealization, load path and structural systems required before analysis of any structures. The lecture was appreciated by the participants and the organizers.
Similarly, the theme of session-3 was “Introduction to Analysis and Design of Tall Buildings using Staad Pro”. During the two hour session, Dr. Biswal explained theoretical aspects related to the structural arrangements, systems, loadings, Indian Standard provisions, requirement of ductile detailing for design of tall buildings. He also conducted a live session on modeling and design of multistory buildings using Staad pro software. The coordinator of the FDP, Dr. Reddy proposed a vote of thanks at the end of the session.
