School of Biotechnology, KIIT Deemed to be University organized ‘KUORA’, the third talk under Alumni Talk Series, on 16th April 2021. Delivering the talk, Mr. Nirala Kumar, Senior Consultant, Deloitte India drew attention of the students to the importance of working in the field in order to know the impact of new ideas at the ground level. He shared some valuable advice about the technical skills that one must possess, like report writing, proper document preparation, proposing ideas in a constructive manner.
Mr. Nirala introduced the students and other participants to the corporate sector. He mentioned that the corporate world does not sleep and that maintaining public relations and networking is very important. As a Biotechnology student, he built a bridge for the students to connect his degree in MBA with his current position in Deloitte India. He emphasized on qualities like multitasking, being able to take up responsibility anytime and making proper references, which would help in work life. He encouraged the students with his valuable talk and wished them success in any field of their choice.
A student of one of the early batches of the Integrated M.Sc. (2008-2013) in KIIT School of Biotechnology, Mr. Nirala Kumar, after completing his integrated M.Sc in the field of Biotechnology, chose to go for a PG Diploma in Healthcare Management at Goa Institute of Management. Since then, he has been working as a Senior Consultant in Deloitte India. His domain of work entails the Public Healthcare, wherein he and his team members develop policies and review government protocols and programs. He has to work closely with organizations like WHO, UNICEF, UNPD, Government Ministry of Health and some NGOs.
Earlier, Dr. Srinivas Patnaik, Dean, KSBT welcomed the speaker and Dr. Gopal Chowdhary introduced and hosted the rest of the Kuora session with other dignitaries and participants. Dr. Chowdhary proposed the vote of thanks.
