The National Service Scheme (NSS) wing of Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences (KINS), a constituent of KIIT-DU, organised an awareness programe on sunstroke at Harekrushna Basti, Neeladri Vihar on May 9, from 10 am to 11 am.
The awareness programme was conducted by NSS volunteers of KINS under the mentorship of NSS Program Officers Diani Sunita and Anita Panigrahi (both tutor, KINS). The volunteers provided health education on sunstroke and its prevention, demonstration of ORS preparation and homemade rehydration solution. It was a great opportunity and pleasing experience for NSS volunteers to interact and educate people on sunstroke/heatstroke at community area. The programme was attended by the locals in large numbers.
