KINS Organizes In service Programme on Midwifery Practices

The Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences (KINS), a constituent of KIIT Deemed-to-be-University, organised an in-service education programme for ASHA workers by MSc Nursing second year students of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) specialization under the guidance   of Prof. Kalyani Rath, Vice-Principal and senior faculties of O&G Nursing Department, KINS.

The programme was conducted on 30th January, 2024 at Hare Krushna Basti, Niladri Vihar to enhance the knowledge of ASHA workers on midwifery practices. The session was started by Rajashree Priyadarshini, who introduced the topics for the presentation, which was followed by an interactive session on “Minor Ailments During Pregnancy” by Bhagyashree Dash.

A role play on “High-Risk Pregnancy Screening” was enacted by the students of MSc Nursing 2nd year , followed by a video presentation on “Birth Preparedness”  The last session was delivered by Ms. Shrestha Sain highlighting the importance of  “Warning Signs During Pregnancy”

The educational program concluded with a quiz competition, where the participants were awarded. Lastly,  the vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs Anusuya Behera, Faculty.

The programme achieved great success with cooperation from the participation of all the community health workers and faculty members of the Department of O&G Nursing.
