ndia is a secular country with diverse cultures. As an endeavour to solidify the bond of oneness and unification, the country celebrated the Birth Anniversary of “Iron Man of India” Sardar Vallabhai Patel on 31st October as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day). NSS Wing of Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences, KIIT Bureau organized a programme to mark the occasion on 30th October 2021 at KINS. Total 60 faculty members of KINS and NSS volunteers participated in the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor (Mrs.) Niyati Das, Principal, KINS highlighted the importance of unity, idealism, youth learning, women empowerment and loyalty, which play a direct role in the development of a country as a whole. ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge’ was recited by Professor (Mrs.) Kalayati Rath, Vice Principal, KINS and it was followed by faculty members and NSS volunteers of KINS.
Mr. Balram Kumar Birla, NSS volunteer, BSC Nursing 3rd year gave a presentation on “Sabhi Dharma Ke Eek Pukar, Eekta Ko Karo Sakar”. A role-play in different languages was enacted by KINS NSS volunteers (3rd year B.Sc. Nursing students) in their mother tongue such as Odia (Mr. Bibhudatta Bahinipati), Bengali (Ms. Debasmita Mondal) and Bihari (Ms. Raj Jyoti).
Ms. Daini Sunita, Tutor, Programme Officer, KINS NSS Unit proposed the vote of thanks. The program was anchored by Ms. Deyasinee Paul, 3rd year B.Sc. Nursing Student of KINS.
