The Department of Criminal Law and Administration, KIIT Law School (KLS) organized a Skill Development Session on the “Practical Aspects of Law of Evidence: Bridging the Gaps” for the students of the 6th Semester on 22nd January 2022. Gracing the occasion as the Guest Speaker, Mr. Bibhu Tripathy, Advocate, High Court of Orissa imparted the practical skill on the law of evidence used by an advocate in the court craft. He discussed the art of cross-examination, underscoring the importance of the Tahsildar Singh Case and how to use the Section 161 Code of Criminal Procedure Statement.
Earlier, Dr. Bhawani Prasad Panda, Director, KLS inaugurated the session, while Dr. Paromita Chhatoraj, HOD, Department of Criminal Law and Administration welcomed the guest speaker. Mr. Sidhartha Sekhar Dash, Co-ordinator of the programme explained the importance of the court crafts in the Law of Evidence for the students of the law. Students enthusiastically participated in the session, which ended with a vote of thanks by the Student Coordinator.
