KIIT School of Law Organizes National Webinar on “Law, Ethics and Public Policy in a Globalizing World”

KIIT School of Law organized a National Webinar on “Law, Ethics and Public Policy in a Globalizing World” on 11th April, 2021. Speaking at the webinar, Prof. K. Parameswaran, who is an expert in the field of spirituality in Law and Ethics, touched upon every facet of law, ethics and public policy. He opined that three components, i.e. law, ethics and public policy, are the most essential part to fulfill the aspirations of humanity.

He highlighted on the core process of three components and how it serves the purpose of human needs especially in a vast populous country like India. Focusing on the interdisciplinary approach to understand the integration of law, ethics and public policy, he emphasized on five strategies to achieve the global human needs in the globalizing world.  The speaker answered all questions posed by the participants by giving insightful examples.  

In his welcome address, Prof. Dr. Bhavani Prasad Panda, Director, KIIT School of Law & Chairperson of the Webinar said, both law and ethics are the central aspects of public policy. Following law and ethics will fulfill the demands of public policy and immensely satisfy the needs of humanity. He further said, any human dissatisfaction is only the result of the injustice that one does to the ethics inside oneself. The Director expressed thankfulness to Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS; Prof. Hrushikesha Mohanty, Vice-Chancellor, KIIT-DU; Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Pro-Vice Chancellor; and Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar for their guidance and leadership.  

Earlier, introducing the topic and the speaker, Prof. Sanghamitra Patnaik, Webinar Convener said, KIIT Deemed to be University and KIIT School of Law are treading on the path under the astute leadership of Dr. Achyuta Samanta whose life itself is dedicated towards serving humanity relentlessly by empowering 30000 indigenous children.

Rapporteurs, Dr. Ramesh Chandra Sethi and Ms. Jinia Kundu, Assistant Professors conducted the Q&A Session. Dr. Arpita Mitra, Associate Professor and Faculty Coordinator extended the vote of thanks. More than 100 students and faculty members joined the webinar.
