KIIT Law School Organizes Skill Oriented Session on Union-State Relations

A Skill Oriented Session on ‘Union-State Relations in the Field of Education’ was organized by the Department of Constitutional Law and Administrative Law, KIIT Law School (KLS). Dr. Alok Shukla (IAS), Principal Secretary, Department of Parliamentary Affairs, Skill Development, Technical Education & Employment, and School Education, Chhattisgarh was the Resource Person.

Dr. Shukla explained various dimensions of the Right to Education Act, 2009 and New Education Policy, 2020. Discussing key features of the National Education Policy 2020, he said, the Policy       provides ample scope for states to come up with their own curriculum. However, he raised his concerns while drawing a comparison between the written script of law and the ground realities relating to the ideal teacher-student ratio, infrastructure, etc. There are also gaps between the theoretical understanding and the practical applications which affect employability of graduates, he stated. He summed up by stating that there is  a lot of work to be done at ground levels.

Dr. Shukla also took questions from the students. The programme was organized under the leadership of Dr. Bhabani Prasad Panda, Director, KLS. Mr. Shashank Nande, Faculty Coordinator also spoke on the occasion. Dr. Kyvalya Garikapati, Head of the Department proposed the vote of thanks.
