KIIT Law School Celebrates 72nd Constitution Day, 2021

Centre for Social Action Voice, Department of Social Sciences and Humanities and NSS Unit of KIIT Law School (KLS) organized a special lecture to commemorate and celebrate the “75th Year of Independence as the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” on the 72nd Constitution Day 2021. Delivering the lecture, Prof. (Dr.) Bhavani Prasad Panda, Director, KLS addressed the pertinent issues and challenges of the Constitution of India. He mentioned the noble idea of Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS to provide education for all and strive for welfare of the society. Everyday should be a celebration of the Constitution, which has set the viable model of governance, he said. While recalling the ideas of the Drafting Committee Members of the Constitution, he stated, the purpose of the Constitution was laid down by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, who emphasized political and economical democracy.

Reflecting on critical aspects of the Constitution of India, he stated that “We the People of India” need to act like soldiers and defend the true spirit that holds the essence of the Constitution. Prof. Panda also explained the importance of justice, equality, liberty and fraternity that helps to establish a new social order that is based on the doctrine of socio-economic justice.

The keynote address was followed by reading of the Preamble and Fundamental Duties by Ms. Jinia Kundu, Program Officer, NSS Unit, KLS. About 200 faculty members and students joined the celebration. Prof. (Dr.) Sanghamitra Pattnaik, Head-Department of Social Sciences and Humanities gave the welcome address, while Dr. Binita Behera, Faculty Coordinator of Social Action Voice proposed the vote of thanks.
