A Centre for Defence and Strategic Studies (CDSS) was inaugurated at KIIT Law School on 28th November, 2028. The event was graced by eminent personalities, including Major General Nilendra Kumar, Judge Advocate General of the Indian Army and Founder Director of Lex Consilium Foundation, New Delhi; Brig. Dr. L. C. Patnaik, Former Defence Advisor for the Middle East at the Indian Embassy in Tehran; Prof. (Dr.) N. L. Mitra, Professor Emeritus at KIIT Law School; Prof. (Dr.) Amreshwar Galla, Pro-Chancellor of KISS-DU; Prof. (Dr.) Debashish Bandyopadhyay, Pro-Vice Chancellor of KIIT-DU; Prof. (Dr.) Rose Varghese, Director of KIIT Law School; and Prof. (Dr.) Sanghamitra Patnaik, Convenor of CDSS.
The Centre for Defence and Strategic Studies at KIIT Law School is dedicated to fostering research and education on national and international security issues. It aims to explore the theoretical and policy dimensions of defense, law, and society, both domestically and globally. As part of the event, Prof. (Dr.) Sanghamitra Patnaik launched her book, “The Regime Change in the Philippines: The Role of the United States of America”, which added valuable insights to the discourse on international relations and strategic studies.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Jinia Kundu, Co-Convenor of CDSS, who acknowledged the contributions of the distinguished guests and supporting organizations.
