As part of the Webinar Series on “Perspectives in Development”, KIIT School of Rural Management (KSRM) organized a talk by Mr. Sudarshan Suchi, CEO, Save the Children, India for the students of MBA (RM) on 12th March 2021. The talk began by expectation mapping of the students. Some of the issues raised and discussed include initiatives with respect to child abuse, emotional trauma faced by the victims, child rights and linking children development with social development. Speaking at the webinar, Mr. Suchi said that the solutions should be addressed at the family instead of children level. When it comes to child abuse, one needs to recognize what it is about, what is offensive and to consider their privacy, physical, mental and personal space, he said. Mr. Suchi emphasized that when it comes to the safety of the girl child, working with parents and family members always proves effective. He also advised the students that they should participate in the community and take up social responsibilities to resolve any issues.
