As a part of Agribusiness Leaders’ Talk Series, KSRM organized a talk for the students of MBA (ABM) and MBA (RM) on 11th February 2021.
Delivering the talk, Mr. Kamlendra Srivastava, Executive Director, National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd (NAFED) highlighted the pioneering work and the strategies adopted by NAFED as a farmer’s cooperative. He shared about the Price Support Scheme (PSS), Price Stabilization Fund (PSF) schemes and its flagship project, Public Private Partnership – Integrated Agriculture Development (PPP-IAD) project. It also works with FPOs as well as support farmers addressing their problems. He emphasized the work done in NAFED’s e-kisan mandis, international trade, agri-waste management project, e-samridhi and the MAHA Onion project.
Mr. Srivastava also stressed on the thriving opportunities in the RM and ABM sector in the present context which is completely different from the scenario a few decades back. It is more promising with ample opportunities to venture out. Government is also coming up with schemes along with improving agriculture infrastructure which is playing a pivotal role in this renaissance, he added.
Mr. Kamlendra Srivastava comes with a rich experience in the agri-business sector having worked with agencies like Food Corporation of India, National Bulk Handling Corporation Ltd., CII World Bank Project and ICICI Bank. He holds a degree in ABM from IIM (A) and B. Tech (Ag) from University of Allahabad.
