KIIT School of Management (KSOM) organized the Inauguration Program of MBA batch (2021-23) in hybrid mode on 5th July 2021. KSOM is the first school of KIIT to start its program this academic year. The inauguration ceremony was graced by Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS; Dr. Hrushikesh Mohanty, Vice-Chancellor, KIIT-DU; Dr. Sasmita Samanta, Pro Vice-Chancellor; Dr. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar; Dr. Saroj Mahapatra, Director, KSOM and Dr. Satya Misra, Dean. KSOM faculty joined the function in the auditorium and the students were online in the virtual mode. The session was hosted by KSOM faculty, Prof. Mohar Banerjee Biswas.
On the occasion, Dr. Achyuta Samanta unveiled the current edition of KSOM’s in-house journal – ‘Parikalpana’. The current issue is the result of the first International Conference on ‘Management Research’ held by KSOM in February 2021. The IMRC was efficiently coordinated by KSOM faculty Dr. Rabi Narayan Subudhi and Dr. Sumita Mishra.
Addressing the students, Dr. Samanta stressed the need to be humble, simple and empathetic. We are living in the age of knowledge, and not the age of certificate; and being a good human being comes before anything else, he told students. He also suggested the importance of learning from the efficient KIIT and KISS management. He suggested the student use digital and social media for propagating good causes. He heartily welcomed the students and thanked their parents for choosing higher education in this tumultuous period and for reposing their faith in KIIT in general and KSOM in particular.
Dr. Hrushikesha Mohanty welcomed the batch to the beautiful learning environment of KIIT. He stressed the amazing infrastructure that KSOM has including the digital library, technology enabled classrooms and ICT tools which takes learning to the next level.
Dr Sasmita Samanta thanked the batch for choosing the path of higher studies through KIIT. She emphasized the future of management lies in the human aspect of it. She stressed upon the virtues of empathy and humanitarian values in management studies and advised students to always keep the human aspect alert in all the tasks they would do. She highlighted the importance of learning beyond the class and seeking guidance from the University on management lessons and learning.
Dr. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty welcomed the dignitaries on the stage and welcomed the new batch. He congratulated the new batch and wished them loads of success during their time here.
Earlier, Dr. Saroj Mahapatra welcomed the batch and thanked their parents for choosing KSOM as their path for further studies. He emphasized three key things for the new batch – Digital Learning, Digital Etiquettes and Digital Tools and how all of them together would make the difference for the new generations of knowledge seekers.
Dr. Satya Narayan Mishra extended the vote of thanks to all the dignitaries, highlighting how the Founder has relentlessly been working towards betterment and reaching out to the under-privileged even in these difficult times of the pandemic and showing the path of betterment to all of us. The session came to a close with the KIIT anthem.
