KIIT Polytechnic celebrated the commencement of the academic year with its annual freshers programme, ‘Aarohan 2024’, designed to welcome first-year students into the KIIT family.
Addressing students, the Founder of KIIT and KISS Dr. Achyuta Samanta reminded the students about their responsibilities towards their parents and society. “Be a good human being,” he advised. He also highlighted the institution’s outstanding placement track record, stating, “Every student is getting on an average three offers in KIIT Polytechnic.” He emphasised KIIT Polytechnic’s recognition as a top institution. “This is the number one polytechnic by the Quality Council of India, within both the government and private sectors. This is also the first accredited polytechnic in India,” he affirmed.
KIIT Vice-Chancellor Prof. Saranjit Singh said that a state-of-the-art advanced skill centre will be coming up in the next six to eight months, catering not only to the Polytechnic but also to others. He praised the Polytechnic’s research output, mentioning that KIIT Polytechnic has published more than 35 listed articles, showcasing the nature of research going on at the campus.
Principal of KIIT Polytechnic Dr. Tanmoy Mohanty underlined the institution’s impressive placement record and talked about the ongoing efforts to strengthen the industry-academic connection. “Our students are going to Tata Steel, Haldia Chemical, and Jindal Steel,” he added, illustrating the robust opportunities available.
Registrar Prof. J.R. Mohanty expressed gratitude to the guests and emphasized the importance of the ceremony for first-year students, marking a significant milestone in their educational journey.
Pro Vice-Chancellor Debasish Bandyopadhyay reflected on the institution’s legacy. “KIIT Polytechnic was one of the foundation stones for building the KIIT ecosystem,” he remarked. “You belong to a particular institute that is the foundation stone for the entire institute,” he affirmed.
KIIT Secretary Sri R N Dash encouraged the students to take pride in their association with the institute. “Feel proud about this institute and how it has shaped your dreams,” he urged.
