KIIT Polytechnic celebrated its 30th anniversary on 20th August, 2024, led by the Founder of KIIT and KISS Dr. Achyuta Samanta, who emphasized the institution’s impressive progress and outlined a vision for the future.
In his address, Dr. Samanta praised KIIT Polytechnic for maintaining its pace alongside KIIT University, which has achieved significant milestones globally. He announced that a national-level function will be held next year to commemorate the 30th anniversary.
“Our results are exemplary, and KIIT Polytechnic has been recognized as the number one polytechnic by the Quality Council of India. It is also the first polytechnic to receive AICTE accreditation,” Dr. Samanta noted. He proudly mentioned that while government polytechnic seats are going vacant, all seats at KIIT Polytechnic are getting filled.
As part of the celebration, a new canteen was inaugurated and 44 faculties were provided laptops to enhance their teaching capabilities. Dr. Samanta also declared that KIIT Polytechnic teaching staff will receive salaries matching the salaries of the faculties of KIIT University, subject to fulfillment of eligibility.
Looking ahead, Dr. Samanta set ambitious targets for KIIT Polytechnic such as increasing student intake from every district in Odisha, as well as from 20 states across India as it moves into its new campus soon. He also announced that five visiting faculty from KIIT University would be teaching at KIIT Polytechnic, ensuring that all students receive industrial exposure.
Principal Dr. Tanmoy Mohanty reflected on the institution’s journey, noting that “We have consistently topped rankings and added many feathers to our cap. We are on the path to establishing a world-class campus shortly,” Dr. Mohanty said.
KIIT University Vice Chancellor Prof. Saranjit Singh; Registrar Prof. J. R. Mohanty, and Secretary of KIIT and KISS Shri R. N. Dash also spoke on the occasion.
