Valedictory Meeting for Second Batch Foreign Language Students at KIIT School of Languages

KIIT School of Languages (KSOL) organized an Online Valedictory Meeting for the 2nd  Batch (April-June 2021)  Foreign Language Students on 22nd June 2021 on successful completion of the 3-month Certificate Course in presence of Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT Deemed to be University and Dr. Biswajit Das, Dean, KSOL. The session was initiated and moderated by Mr. Sameer Kumar Das, Deputy Director, KSOL.

Speaking at the valedictory meeting, Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty congratulated all the students and their trainers for successful completion of the second batch foreign language course. In his welcome remark, Dr. Biswajit Das encouraged the students to pursue excellence in building language and soft skills which are required globally for a successful career.

All the six foreign language trainers – Ms. Sally Saleh (Arabic), Ms. Amrita Chottaroy (English), Mr. Subhrangshu Mohanty (French), Ms. Prajna De (Japanese), Mr. Asit Swarnakar (Spanish) and Mr. Pravin Gupta (German) – shared their valuable teaching experience and the development imparted to students in a short span through interactive sessions and comprehensive syllabus.

Several students expressed gratitude to their respective trainers for excellent teaching and guidance and commended the efforts of the School of Languages while sharing positive feedback on overall course delivery. The staff and faculty members who opted for various language courses like Prof. Dia Sarkar, Assistant Professor, School of Law;  Ms. Jayanti Nath, Deputy Director, Girls’ Hostel & Student Affairs; Mr. Chandan Kumar Mohapatra, Faculty, School of Yoga; Dr. Sarbari Acharya, Assistant Professor, School of Applied Sciences also shared their comments and feedback during the valedictory meeting. Students also submitted their inputs on the courses through an online feedback form. Most of them now want to enrol for another level of language learning. Also, students showed interest to know more on cultural and societal aspects through regular engagement in the form of Club activities for German, Spanish, French, etc.

The School of Languages received overwhelming responses from students for the last two consecutive batches in the form of enrolments. The first batch in January had 75 admissions, while the 2nd batch in April saw an 80% growth with 135 admissions. Encouraged by the participation, KSOL has added two more courses – Odia Proficiency and IELTS Preparatory – for July-September 2021 session (3rd Batch) for which enrolment is ongoing. Last date of admission for the upcoming session is 10th July 2021.
