Japanese Society KIZUNA Launched During Inaugural Session of 4th JR-IR Batch For Students of KIIT

On the eve of the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, an epitome of India-Japan friendship, students from different Schools of KIIT Deemed to be University launched KIZUNA, the Japanese society of KIIT and a peer learning forum in the sideline of the inaugural session of the 4th batch of Japan Ready-Industry Ready (JR-IR) Training program.

KIZUNA is co-founded by the students who graduated in the JR-IR program (2023 batch) under guidance of KIIT School of Language & Literature (KSLL). It aims to establish a progressive ecosystem for promotion of Japanese language and culture in KIIT and all its associated institutions through participation of all stakeholders including students, staff & faculty members. Taking forward the Founder, Dr Achyuta Samanta’s philosophy of Art of Giving and collective learning for social empowerment, KIZUNA, will strive to connect with people from all sections of the society to inculcate common values of both India & Japan for attaining excellence in multi-dimensional areas like science & technology, art, culture,  etc.

In the upcoming 4th session of the JR-IR program, around 60 students from Engineering, Commerce & Language, will undergo 240 Hours of training in Japanese language for 8 months through physical classes from a native teacher Ms. Mami Kimura, an overseas volunteer of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

The inaugural session of the 4th batch of Japanese language training under JR-IR program, was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Saranjit Singh, Vice Chancellor, KIIT-DU; Prof. (Dr.) Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT-DU; Mr Girish Naik, Chief Regional Officer, Kolkata Branch, Mitsubishi Corporation India Pvt Ltd; Dr. Nitin Sharma, Associate Dean, KIIT School of Mechanical Engineering and Prof. (Dr.) Beerendra Pandey, Dean, KSLL who blessed and encouraged the newly enrolled students on the career benefits of Japanese language learning. Also the recently graduated students shared their testimonials to motivate the newcomers in the program.

JR-IR program, for promoting the study of Japanese language & culture at KIIT, was initiated in 2021 with the guidance of Ministry of External Affairs and Embassy of Japan under the aegis of India- Japan bilateral agreement to cater the skill development and human resource requirements of both the countries. The JR-IR program intends to make students a Bilingual Technical Evangelist which will enable them to go to Japan or work in Japanese or Japan related organizations in India. On successful completion of the training programme, students will be awarded with certificates.
