Abstract:

On large uses of mechanization technology, more uses of organic production, there is a decrease in price of agricultural product, and new complex legislation has made the life of farmers more stressful. In this study, based on in-depth review of literature and analysis of works based on the mental work pressure and stresses over framers, the risk associated with the Indian agricultural sectors were recognized by the use of fuzzy TOPSIS method. All the identified risk-factors were ranked based on their preferences. Then, the QFD technique was used to suggest the design parameters so as to minimize the work stress on farmers.

Abstract:

The current work selected the wiper geometry tool for machining Ti-6Al4V ELI alloys. Further, the crucial responses like flank wear (VBc), surface roughness (Ra), workpiece temperature (Tw), and material removal rate (MRR) are analyzed. Ra is found to be under control as the maximum value lies within 1 µm, but simultaneously flank wear and workpiece temperature are relatively larger in magnitude. Additionally, a novel modeling technique, namely multiple adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (MANFIS), is implemented to predict the responses and found to be very accurate and effective as root mean square error for model VBc, Ra, Tw, and MRR is found to be 0.64%, 0.15%, 0.54%, and 2.47%, respectively.

Abstract:

In this paper, an attempt has been made to combine hot abrasives and compressed air to form a hot abrasive air jet. This study aims to analyze the cutting performance in hot-abrasive jet machining (HAJM) of hardstone quartz concerning surface roughness, taper angle (TA), and material removal rate (MRR). Combined approach of Box–Behnken design — analysis of variance, response surface methodology, and statistical technique (here desirability function approach), followed by computational approach (here genetic algorithm), is, respectively, employed for experimental investigation, predictive modeling, and multi-response optimization.Result shows that the most significant parameter is abrasive temperature for surface roughness, whereas it is pressure in case of both TA and MRR. Applications of hot abrasives in AJM process have shown attention in enhancing the cutting performance for material removal.

Abstract:

In the present paper, the authors have made an attempt to present a review on the formation of non-dendrite particles through cooling slope (CS) technique and reported the effect of various process parameters in particular, cooling slope length, degree of superheat of metal, height and diameter of the nozzle, CS plate material, mold material and its temperature, coolant type, coolant temperature and flow rate on the microstructure of the fabricated alloy system.

Abstract:

This research is focused on the study of the tribological properties of epoxy composites reinforced with red brick dust and glass fiber. Wear tests are conducted on a pin-on-disk apparatus. The wear rate and coefficient of friction are measured after tribological tests. The relative effect of process parameters such as sliding velocity, normal load, filler content on specific wear rate, and coefficient of friction is also examined using the Taguchi model and analysis of variance technique.

Abstract:

In this work, an electrophoretic deposition technique was used to deposit graphene oxide (GO) on 304 stainless steel. Its corrosion performance was evaluated in a simulated polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell environment. The corrosion current density (icorr) and interfacial contact resistance (ICR) were measured at 8.9 µA/cm2 and 19.3 mΩ cm2, respectively. The icorr of GO coated 304SS is several orders lower than bare SS 304. Similarly, the ICR of GO coated 304SS is nearly half of bare 304SS at a compaction pressure of 150 N/cm2. The potentio dynamic polarization plot indicates the prevalence of multiple corrosion mechanisms. A prolonged corrosion study for 30 days immersed in the simulated PEM cell environment shows the formation of rounded pits that corroborate the activity of pitting corrosion.
