Title of the Sanctioned Project: Development and Implementation of Dynamic Spectrum Allocation Technique in Cognitive Radio Network for IoT Applications

Principal Investigator: Prof. Swati Swayamsiddha

Co-Principal Investigator: Prof. Ganapati Panda CV Raman College, Bhubaneswar

Name of Funding Agency: Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Govt. of India

Sanctioned Amount of Project: Rs. 21 lakh for three years

Abstract of the Project:

The world has witnessed an explosive growth in adoption of IoT in various sectors such as smart cities, smart health-care, smart agriculture and food production, smart manufacturing, smart grid, vehicular communication, disaster management and many other kinds of cyber-physical systems. This requires massive connectivity leading to bandwidth hungry scenario which gives rise to the paradigm of cognitive IoT. This work attempts to highlight the approaches and challenges of spectrum management in cognitive IoT in the perspective of the upcoming 5G wireless communication system. This project proposes the development of a spectrum allocation prototype model and its FPGA implementation for real-time applications.
