The faculty members of the Psychology Department (of the School of Social Financial and Human Sciences) along with all the Psychology UG 5th Sem and PG 3rd Sem Students visited the Open Learning System (OLS), Bhubaneswar on 23rd August, 2023. OLS is a state-level organization reaching out to all districts’ stakeholders in need. It takes care of the intellectually disabled children. It has a special presence in the districts of Khurda and Puri. However, it has collaborators in all other districts of Odisha through which it reaches out to the most disadvantaged sections of the society. The students gained a first-hand experience of witnessing the life of intellectually disabled kids. They learned about the various tools and activities that help those kids to sustain and carry out their living. The principal and management of the school were briefed about the lifestyle of the kids there. The students there have also participated in and got awards in the Special Olympics.
